WiSER Together 2025: Valuing Diversity and Collaborating for Change
On June 24-25, 2025, the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University (Headingley Campus) will host the “WiSER Together 2025” conference. Under the theme “Valuing Diversity and Collaborating for Change,” this event aims to unite diverse voices to address the contemporary challenges faced by women and girls in sport and exercise.
Organized in collaboration with the Women in Sport and Exercise Academic Network (WiSEAN), the conference offers an interdisciplinary platform for academics, practitioners, and students to share research, foster collaboration, and develop strategies to enhance opportunities and conditions for women and girls in sport—from grassroots involvement to elite competition.
Conference Objectives:
- To provide a multi-disciplinary space for colleagues to network and collaborate for change
- To welcome a diversity of colleagues to share and celebrate research in relation to women and girls in sport and exercise
- To provide a variety of knowledge exchange formats to promote learning and provoke critical debate
- To improve conditions for different women and girls in sport and exercise, from grassroots sports to elite level performance
The event invites contributions from a wide range of fields, including sociology, psychology, biomechanics, coaching, sport business, and more. Submissions are welcome from undergraduate and postgraduate students, early-career researchers, experienced academics, and practitioners alike.
