We are pleased to inform you that, as part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Movimento journal (ESEF/UFRGS), we have published a special issue devoted to a “Public Sociology of Sport in the Americas”.

The major objective of this volume, co-edited by Dr. Angela Aisenstein (Argentina), Dr. Peter Donnelly (Canada), and Dr. Alex Branco Fraga (Brazil), was to foster a debate about how, or whether, scholars from several parts of the world – and mainly the Americas – have been facing the political challenges related to sport as a social right in an engaged and committed way.
